And then eat FOOD??

We're headed to NYC and we were telling the boys about all the places we are headed to see. After explaining the World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty, Battery Park, Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, Chinatown... Gavin exclaims, "And then eat FOOD?!?" He's totally in this trip for the food. We've been giggling ever since about it.

December

We were invited to Kelson's birthday party. He's 7 and officially done with radiation!

Cute buddies

Gavin went to play in his room. It got really quiet so we went to check on him and he was passed out on the floor.

Gavin loves olives. Also, Gavin is really into tucking in his shirt- ONLY in the front. It's so silly. I have no idea where he got it from but he's very particular to have it tucked in.

Jaylen's basketball got off to a pretty rough start. He's playing on a second grade team- the Hornets. We registered a few days late so we hadn't heard from the coach, so we showed up to the first game and it was pure crazy- especially compared to what Jaylen's league was like last year. He played for 1 minute before he started bawling in the middle of the game. He just walked off crying. The last couple games have been really frustrating that way. He's gotten to know the other boys at practice and has gotten more used to the fast pace and score keeping of this new team.

Aaron competing for the rec league title. Unfortunately, they barely lost!

I'm really enjoying my W/F 5:30 am TRX classes!

One of my clients gave me an old coat and boots that her boys have outgrown for our trip back east. Jaylen is CRAZY about it. He loves the "ninja" mask in the coat.

Jaylen finally had a successful, fun game where he was SMILING! Something clicked and he did great! It was relieving to see him finally loosen up and just have fun!

This cracked me up. Aaron was tired fighting with him on his routine, so he typed it up and posted it in his room. Jaylen wasn't too excited (as you can see by the crossed out response) but came around to it.

Fun little gifts from our friends, Steve and Ellie, in New Mexico.

Gavin was so precious asleep under the Christmas lights on their bunk bed. Love the magic of this season with these boys!

Elf Yourself Half Marathon

I had an amazing time running the UnderGround race called Elf Yourself. We ran down to the race start from our neighborhood, so 15.5 miles is how long these costumes lasted! It was an amazingly good time with my buddies.

At the turn around. It was a crazy hard course. Up and down so many hills!

Dave joined us. It's always a fun time when he's involved.

The start

So so ready to be done. That was a rough finish!

Lights

We went to the temple to see the Nativities and lights. It turned out to be a very spiritual experience and fun time. The video they showed was amazing. I feel very fortunate for the knowledge of the gospel!
The kids LOVED the lights- so magical! We went down town as well, and even though the concert we wanted to attend was full, we ended up with two extremely happy boys playing in the leaves.

On our way out we noticed a whole setup on one of the outdoor tables and a violinist preparing her things. We stopped and watched what looked like an upcoming proposal. It was so adorable to watch this man get down on his knee and propose. So cute and special- glad we got to peek in from afar!

Gingerbread houses and Jaylen's school work

We did a gingerbread house for FHE. It was really cute to see the boys all excited about it. Gavin ate the candy while we decorated it. No, he helped, but he was really good at sneaking candy throughout.

Jaylen came home with these letters from school. Made me smile:

Tuacahn Nativity

We went to the live Nativity they had at Tuacahn. So fun! Definitely helps start off the holiday season.
Gavin and I rode one of the camels. There was no way we were getting Jaylen anywhere close to that thing!

All aboard the train!

I'm not a huge fan of the sitting on Santa's lap thing. But he was there, so we did it! He asked Gavin what he wanted and Gavin said, "A BOMB." Santa was quite alarmed. Little did he know, he wanted a cute candy Mario bomb. Jaylen has no idea what he wants. He'll be surprised!

We ran into one of Kylee's best friends, Jessica.
Such a beautiful performance and music! All outside!

The boys were ZONKED out.

December

Jaylen wakes up super early (4:30-5 am) so I've been taking him to my TRX class with me. Afterwards, we run around the track and he'll play on the bike next to me.

We went to a Elizabeth's house last week for a BBQ. They have this awesome zip line that goes all the way across their yard. It was fun being with the Harwoods, Hursts and Nasals!
Gavin did the zip line over and over again! He kept begging for someone to pull him.

We went to an event at the community center and came home adopting Grandma Iona from a local assisted living place. They had a list of needs/wants and some information on her. This week we got her presents and went to meet and visit with her. She was adorable- 97 years old! She was very sweet and fun to chat with. She's been through so much in her lifetime. It was cute watching the boys being so tender with her when we left.

Playing at the playground with my cutie. He loves to play that he's Mario and I'm Luigi and we search around for things.
