I had one of those overwhelming moments of feeling so grateful to be a mother while holding my sleepy Gavin today. So sweet, innocent and tender. So safe and loved in my arms. It's a beautiful thing.

So many funny stories from the kids and I fear I don't write enough of them down. Here's a few random ones that still make me chuckle:
We're trying to get Gavin out of pull-ups at night. So we told him to go potty before bed- "just try and push anything out." He got frustrated and didn't want to go to the bathroom. After telling him he had to he exclaimed, "I don't want to push anything out of my holes!!!" We busted up laughing.
One night we had just gotten the boys out of the bath tub. I started reading scriptures with Jaylen when Aaron picked up Gavin and held him on his lap. He gives him a kiss on his head and suddenly looks over at us on the couch. "Why does Gavin have poop in his hair??" Jaylen immediately got worried. "WHY DOES GAVIN HAVE CRAP ON HIS HEAD?!" Jaylen was too scared to tell, so we asked Gavin. "Buppy pooped on my head in my room." Aaron pulled Jaylen in their room. "WHERE IS THE POOP?? WHAT HAPPENED?!" Jaylen wouldn't answer but knew he had done something. As I re-bathed Gavin, Aaron immediately put Jaylen to bed. Listening to Aaron sternly yell at Jaylen was dang funny. "THERE WILL BE NO POOP ANYWHERE BUT IN THE TOILET IN THIS HOUSE. YOU WILL NEVER, EVER CRAP ON YOUR BROTHER'S HEAD AGAIN."
Aaron went to our room and a few seconds later came roaring back in and snagged Jaylen out his head. "Why is there a TURD on our floor??" Apparently, Jaylen had gotten out of the bathtub a second too late to go to the bathroom and not made it in time to the toilet. He wiped poorly and they ran around shaking their naked booties around before putting on PJs. Somewhere in the chasing each other's naked buns around poop got on Gavin's head.
We laid down in bed an hour later, Aaron still breathing heavily and flustered from kissing a poopy head. I busted up laughing. "What just happened?! How did our evening turn out like that??" It was priceless. We had no idea our life would involve investigating poop when we became parents. Oh boys. Oh so gross.
