7 Weeks: Cutest baby ever!

Oh how we love this little boy:

What's more precious than a sleeping baby?

A sleeping baby smiling!

Such a sweet little boy. It's nice to really enjoy the newborn stage. We love our little 7 week old boy!

Easter Sunday 2011

We had a great Easter Sunday. Gavin's first week to church, great speakers, egg hunt, egg dinosaurs, great food, watched The Testaments, and enjoyed being together as a family. Here's some photos of our day:

YUM!!

Eating Easter dinner- Cafe Rio burritos with Pico de Gallo, lime rice, seasoned beans and limeade. MmmmmMmmm

Jaylen showing off all the eggs he found! Aaron was quite excited about the little basketball eggs Jaylen picked out at the store...

Our little family..

My adorable 3 boys.

2 boys on Easter morning

Cute little Gavin- 6 1/2 weeks old. First week at church! It was a special stake meeting since a member of the twelve apostles and seventy were in town. Great Easter Sunday!

We tried to do a FHE yesterday about the meaning of Easter and Jaylen still talked about candy, so maybe next year his little brain can handle more. Speaking of, he was goofing off this morning and about crushed Gavin so Aaron got upset with him and told him to "use his brain to think." To that Jaylen said sternly, "I'm not going to use my brain to think anymore!"

We ended today with watching The Testaments. Great movie and a great end to Easter Sunday!

April randoms

Here's a picture of Gavin this morning after a bath.

Wow, how this baby is growing. I just can't believe how much faster it feels like he's growing compared to Jaylen. I just bagged up his newborn to size 3 month clothes yesterday because he's outgrown them. Kinda sad, since we didn't get to use a bunch of it! But on to 3-6 months clothes!

We had fun at Zach's 1st birthday party yesterday. Lizi and Nate are our neighbors and I used to run with Lizi- good times!

Sam and Gavin. Cute!

Jaylen woke up early the other morning and came in and whispered in my ear- "Mom, I love everything about trains!" The way he said it was so cute- He is one train crazy kid! We spent over 2 1/2 hours at the biopark JUST looking at the little model train garden and nothing else. It never gets old for him!

First smiles!

Gavin is an awesome baby. So adorable- we just love him to pieces. Last night Aaron brought him to me at about 9:30, fed him and put him back to bed by 10 and he slept till 5 am this morning. I couldn't believe it! 7 hours!

On top of that, he gave me his first full smiles! Oh, they were so CUTE! I've decided you just can't capture a newborns cuteness through a camera. After Aaron got home from work, he gave him a couple smiles too. What a sweet baby. We love having him in our home.

Yesterday Jaylen, Gavin and I were laying on a blanket in our family room when Jaylen said as he patted Gavin's head, "Ohhhh, we just love Gavin so much, huh Mom?!" "He's just so cute, we just love him, huh?!" It was adorable. They'll be great friends.

Crazy sleeper

Jaylen brought all his stuff out in the hall and fell asleep by the kitchen. Why he won't just lay down in his own bed and sleep is frustrating, but hilarious when we find him like this:

Beautiful Saturday

What an awesome day we had yesterday. I felt like we were spoiled rotten.

Our neighbor came over early to watch our kids while we went and ran in a 10K together over on the bosque. It was a gorgeous run, great weather, and so fun to do it together.

We came home to play with these cuties:

Gavin's "moobs"

Then some awesome friends watched the kids at night while we went off to see The Fiddler on the Roof at Popejoy hall. A client of mine was out of town so she graciously gave us her tickets. I was really excited since I remember my dad really enjoying that play and having it in our home growing up. It was a fantastic production and loved spending the evening with just my hubs!

Feeling so blessed this week. Thank goodness for good friends and family!

I love this boy

Jaylen loves to crawl in Gavn's bassinet. Such a silly kid!

Jaylen was "swimming" in the tub yesterday. It was so cute.

Jaylen has been really sweet lately- full of lots of hugs, kisses and I love yous. I think he senses my tough days and is extra full of love on those days. It's been well needed, and has helped me out a lot adjust to having 2.

Jaylen is such a social little guy. I find him on our deck a lot yelling out to kids or anyone walking by saying, "Hey Dude!" or "Hey girl! What you doing?" He loves talking to anyone he comes in contact with and can tell a crazy story filled with random thoughts and events.

Gavin's 1 month old!

Wow! Little Gavin is a month old. He has been such a great baby. Here's his stats from his 1 month checkup with the doctor:

Weight: 11 lbs 7 oz
Height: 21 3/4 inches

Poor kido still has blocked tear ducts which results in crusty, goopy eyes a lot. As Jaylen was being silly last night, Aaron said we should start calling Jaylen Goofy and Gavin Goopy. I hope his "goopy" eyes will get better soon.

He's lost some of his hair up top, but still has a killer mullet in the back. He's hinted at a smile, but hasn't really broken them out yet- I think that should come in the next few weeks. Yay!

He's healthy and a happy baby!

Cute boys on Gavin's 1 month birthday!

What a crazy week! I've been having such crazy days- one day feeling really weepy and depressed, and another day feeling content. I think I go crazy when I'm stuck at home car less in our little apartment for too long. Luckily this morning I woke up snuggled next to my 2 adorable baby boys, Jaylen with his arm around me, both snoozing peacefully and I feel really blessed. I have 3 healthy, adorable boys- life is good.

Jaylen has been so sweet and cute with Gavin. I love watching them together. Jaylen loves to help bathe, watch diaper changes, and snuggle with him.

Here's Gavin's first real bath in the tub:

He hated the sponge baths, but he actually seemed like he might enjoy the tub once he gets used to it.

Another crazy thing about this week is we got a new car for me and the kidos last night! A 2008 Honda Pilot. I've only driven it home from Car Max, so we haven't gotten it out yet, but we are super excited. We definitely needed this with us both working and needing to be places, with the 2 kids and me going crazy stuck at home a lot. We were really lucky to have some hookups getting us a good deal and we feel VERY fortunate to be able to finally have a second set of wheels.

Being back at work has worked out great. Aaron's been able to work out his schedule to allow me to train a lot of my clients, either early morning or after he gets home. I'm very grateful he's so supportive of me doing this. I'm still not taking Gavin into child care- I want to wait till he's had his 2 month shots and the sicky season has faded out more.

I've been back to playing racquetball since a couple weeks ago and LOVE it. Running has also been great- a client of mine let me borrow her Phil and Ted's double stroller. It is AMAZING. Wow, it's definitely motivated me to get out with the kidos for a jog. Aaron and I are signed up for a 10K on Saturday together. I'm excited to get out, just the 2 of us, and have a fun active morning.

Best deal ever.

Talk about a sweet deal. Get this:

So it's a struggle to get Jaylen dressed every morning and to clean his room. He is obsessed with the vacuum though, so one morning I struck a deal with him that if he got dressed and cleaned his room I would let him vacuum. So 10 minutes later he came out dressed and his room floor completely cleared of toys. THEN, he vacuums our whole apartment as his reward.

He loved it, I loved it. We'll be doing this on a regular basis.

What a beautiful day!

Jaylen and I came back from a run and when we walked inside he said, "Oh what a beautiful day, Mom. It's so wonderful."

Just what I needed to hear after having a very baby bluish day.

Saturday, April 9, 2011

This cracked me up this morning:

Jaylen: "Mom, what does a bee say?"
Me: "Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
Jaylen: "Very good Mom. You are so smart!"

Bedtime and bows

Last Friday some friends invited me to make bows with them. I've never made bows before, so I was excited to learn the new skill. I wasn't raised doing many crafts, so I was excited to expand my craftiness. It's not that hard, doesn't require that much special materials, and can be done quick and fairly easily, and look beautiful! I'm a fan.

Rachel has an awesome camera and is a great photographer so here's a couple pictures I snagged from her of our bow making at Tiffany's home:

I'm going to help my friend Sam teach the YW how to do bows next week, so we got together again to make bows this week. Here's the bows I've made from our 2 bow making get togethers. I'm pretty excited about them.

Aaron was reading stories to the boys for bedtime last night and it was adorable to watch. Jaylen loves having Gavin lay by him for bedtime stories. I love these 3 boys!

Cute lil Gavin at 3 weeks old:

Gavin's begun to cry a lot more before going to sleep. Hopefully it's just a temporary stage that will be over soon- my sanity is on the line.

Jaylen funnies and back to work

Aaron was blending together some fruit dip during conference this morning and Jaylen yelled from the couch, "Dad, cut it out! I can't hear Joseph Smith!!"

Aaron took the boys on a walk to the grocery store this morning and was talking to Jaylen about conference and asked Jaylen who the prophet was. Jaylen said, "Thomas the train Monson."

I used to take naps with Jaylen and he'd hold my hand when he was ready to sleep. I heard Gavin fussing the other day as they were snuggling on his blanket on the floor and when I looked, Jaylen was trying to hold his hand. It was really cute- he tries to hold his hand when they snuggle and he's tired. Precious. Except for Gavin hates it.

Jaylen loves this little beanie baby ostrich that Steve and Ellie gave him awhile ago. He sleeps with it, has it sit on the counter and watch him go potty, eats with it, has Gavin snuggle it when he's sleeping, and snuggle with it on the floor with Gavin. It's pretty funny and really cute!

Jaylen is 38 months old today!

I went back to training this week- just my early morning clients and clients on Thursday night (when Aaron can be home with Gavin). It felt GREAT. It's helped my patience level at home a lot having that little break, being able to talk to adults/friends, exercise, and do something I love. Jaylen also went into child care with me and he loved going back and playing with his friends. It's been a good thing for both of us.

My work is sponsoring the Albuquerque half marathon in a couple weeks and sent out an email saying we could sign up for free. So, I signed up, hoping I felt like I could do it by then. Then I found out there was a 10K as well, and Aaron would do it with me, so we are both signed up for the 10K on April 16th. I'm excited. We also joined myfitnesspal.com this week with Aaron's family and it's been really fun to get motivated as a couple to be healthy and eat right.

I did my first runs this week. I ran around our tennis and basketball court while Jaylen played and Gavin slept in his stroller on Thursday and it was wonderful. Friday was my first run on the treadmill and I was very, very happy. I was able to run at my normal speed for almost 4 miles and it seriously felt so amazing. I felt like my body was free to move and it was so invigorating. Gavin slept next to my treadmill in his car seat- it worked out great. I ran again this morning and can feel slightly sore from yesterday, but wow, I can't even explain how happy I am to have my body back to move and do what I'd like to. I'm very excited to be active again and able to run. Now I can start training for some triathlons and runs. YAY!
