Recently

Due to a retarded computer, slow picture downloading, and just insanely running around- blog posting has been difficult. But a headache later, here are some pictures from lately:

My mom came up for Rachel's baby blessing and I took her and Nastasha up to Seattle for some sight seeing on Tuesday. It was really fun.. Here's some pictures from the day:

On the monorail. Jaylen LOVED it. A train video he has has the monorail on it, and he was totally excited to see it and ride it first hand. A few days later he said so cutely in the car, "Mom, thanks so much for taking me to ride the monorail."

Walking down into Pike's Market place. Jaylen didn't really like it in there- he was so funny about how stinky the fish was in there. He has quite the sensitive nose and it definitely doesn't prefer ocean, fishy smells.

The space needle..

On the space needle

Jaylen and Birgita are so cute (and so mischievous sometimes!). They were so cute riding around together on this little bike and falling off while the big boys were playing Michael Jackson on the Wii. It was a fun FHE night with Ben and Rach's family, my mom and us..

How cute are these two?!

Dinner with my mom in town..

Being at the airport for when Bryce came off his mission from Romania. Way neat to see him and hear his stories about his mission! So precious to see him hug his momma! Such a sweet experience.

It's been so fun being on the hill. After getting groceries tonight I had to pinch myself coming down into our place, overlooking the gorgeous Sound. We are so blessed to be living by so much great family, and have such a fun place to roam and be.

Jaylen loves it. He loves going to play with his cousins. Preston came down to play with Jaylen the other day and it was so cute how happy it made Jaylen to have him coming down looking for him to play. It really means alot to him that Preston makes his way down to play occasionally. He really looks up to his cousins.

I have my second interview with the YMCA on Monday. I'm excited! It sounds like a good fit for us.

ADORABLE!

This little boy melts my heart. So so sweet and so so cute. 4 months old and going on 5 months soon.. crazy! He's growing up so fast!

He rolled over for the first time last week, giggles like crazy (loves when the kids walk over him- hard to explain but he rolls laughing!), at 4 months was 17 lbs, 26 1/4" tall, is working on a tooth (he LOVES to gnaw on fingers or anything!), still hates tummy time, loves his Bumbo seat, and is so happy and smiley in the mornings especially. Such a happy boy- still wakes up every 3 hours at night to eat, but usually goes right back to sleep. Hopefully he'll start sleeping through the night soon!

Anderson Island run

Uploading pictures now day is taking ridiculously long, so posting is much more difficult. Here are the rest of the pictures from Anderson Island. Such a fun day!

Jaylen giving Gavin kisses...

So beautiful out here in WA!

There was a guy there fishing that was so nice to let Jaylen help reel in the fish and hold them. Jaylen LOVED it! It was so cute...

A cute picture Nastasha took of Gavin- PEACE!

Jaylen loved being buried by Nastasha. She made him into a cute little mer-man.

Love this chunky boy!

On the ferry on the way over to Anderson Island...

Pure heaven for Jaylen: trains, boats, airplanes. Everything is so fascinating!

Cute little swing on a park we ran to before the ferry came...

Boy this train was BIG and FAST! Totally startling. That and Nastasha almost sending Gavin over into the ocean in the stroller. NOT COOL, definitely made our hearts drop!

Running and life in Washington

Washington has been really good to us so far. It is nice to be around normal people. We loved New Mexico weather and the good friends we had there, but man there was a lot of riff-raf, culture was frustrating, and it was sometimes scary (getting in a fight with the downstairs neighbor the day before moving didn't help). So far, I've really enjoyed the people up here.

I'm really happy with the personal progress I feel like I made in New Mexico. I've been way more comfortable going outside my comfort box since we've been up here. It feels good. I've met a lot of fun ladies at playgroups, went to a girl's night out, went to a children's museum with friend's in the ward, been on fun runs with Nastasha, found out about basketball night for women at the church building, and am enjoying being with family on the hill.

I still have days where I really miss my life in New Mexico- my day to day, seeing my clients, going to lunch in the park with friends, the constant sun, my girl friends and Steve and Ellie. Moving is usually really tough on me in those areas. I just miss my old life, but I feel confident and good about our new life here. It gets to me usually on days were it's cloudy and rainy, which is has been A TON here. That might be the death of me. I hate the cloudy, drizzle. I'm trying to change my thinking on it and be as positive as I can. I despise wearing sweatshirts in July, and definitely don't have enough clothes appropriate for the kids in this weather. Winter might kill me. The long days are way weird too- sun up at 5 am and going down at 10 pm. I actually enjoy that, especially when it's sunny. Speaking of that, I must change our blog background. I can't handle anything dark now days- I've had enough cloudiness today.

Jaylen loves it up here. The trains running by all day, non stop playing with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandma. It's also extremely frustrating. I feel like half my day is tracking him down because he just runs off everywhere. After I told everyone to stop feeding "the stray puppy" it's gotten better. He's at home alot more and not looking for treats all the time. I've also been trusting him a little more and hoping he won't wander off the hill. He'll be doing a soccer camp with Birgita next week- I'm way excited!

Gavin is adorable. He's definitely a full out thumb sucker now days. It's really cute, but I'm conflicted because I know how breaking that habit can be- but not much I can do about it now I think. He is so full of smiles and little laughs. He's been gumming and biting our fingers a lot so I am wondering about teeth- but it's way earlier than Jaylen got them for sure!

I really enjoy my runs with Nastasha. She is great and has really helped me transition to being up here. We did a gorgeous run along Ruston Way and had lunch on the beach and headed back. It was really fun. I'm so glad to have someone as into being active as I am. She's such a sweetheart and is so uplifting to be around. I think we'll be doing an Ultra marathon together in October (50K). Am I crazy?

Here's some pictures from our run:

Jaylen loved all the trains coming by:

More 4th of July

Here's some pictures from 4th of July on the hill. So so much fun. Food was great, being with family was great and Jaylen was so brave with the fireworks this year!

Up on Grandma's balcony- getting dark at 10 PM!!!!!!!! Crazy.

Playing skee ball

So fun to have Nastasha, Marla & Catelyn there!

Our first game of pickle ball. It was a lot of fun. We're going to start practicing for next year! :) We had to laugh after we saw the couple in the finals was super old (so sorry if anyone knows them), but we sure had a good laugh.
