July

So far, July has been a busy, fun one. Here's so far:

Exploring a nearby trail that runs along a clean, little creek. Kids loved it!

Jaylen is crazy about "fishing with Daddy" lately. We laugh because Aaron wasn't even sure he knew how. Jaylen was clearly desperate for some fishing time with his Dad, so we picked up some fishing poles to surprise Aaron when he came home from work. They caught TWO fish on their first trip. It was adorable. Jaylen was so excited. Gavin and I showed up later with dinner and I loved watching my two boys happily fishing together. Jaylen's wish come true!

This patio set gave us quite the morning. I went to pick up this set off Craigslist. As I was attempting to awkwardly load it into the car, Jaylen tried to get into my phone (it's locked because he texted my new boss at Summit, "I. Love. You." many times). Apparently after you try too many times, it'll only allow you to dial emergency numbers, so while I was loading, Jaylen was calling 911 for ten minutes. As I squished everything in, and told the man I bought it from, "Whelp, I just can't get pulled over on the way home!" Jaylen comes up to me telling me the phone is for me.

"Hello? Is this Cera? Is everything okay? This is 911 and we've received numerous 911 calls from your phone for the last 10 minutes." After I explained to her the situation, my boss starts calling through. "Cera? Are you okay? Have the police found you yet? They've been here looking for you."

SERIOUSLY JAYLEN?

So after I get the kids stuffed in around the patio furniture (Jaylen's sitting sandwiched in between chairs and Gavin's car seat is tipped to the side), two police cruisers pull in. "Excuse me maam. Are you Cera Edgley? Is everything okay? Are your children okay?"   Yes, they are fine, BUT PLEASE DON'T LOOK IN THE CAR! Ha... I left out the back after explaining and luckily made it home with no problems.

Oh Jaylen, the situations you get me in to. I hope I have many chances to pay you back. :)

The fourth of July was fantastic! We had 6 of my nieces and nephew over for a sleep over on July 3rd. We swam at the pool, made and ate pizza and watermelon, and enjoyed some delicious fondue. It was really fun to spend time with them. We've missed them since moving down to our home!

In the morning, the three oldest girls and I set off to Leeds where Jenny was in charge of the 5k race. It was fun running with my brother and nieces! I came in first for the women and 3rd overall. I was happy, considering I can hardly breathe and sweat like a pig in the heat!

I love our beautiful country. I'm grateful to be living the life I want to be, with who I want to, where I want to. America is truly an amazing place. I'm glad I can be with my sweet family here.

We ate breakfast at the Leeds park, enjoyed a fire hose slip in slide and water games, snow cones, swinging in my brother's back yard, a dance and fireworks later. It was great to spend the day with family.

Gavin would just sit by a bunch of kids like they were long lost buddies. So cute! He was nervous about the fireworks at first, but got excited after realizing he wasn't dying.
We drove up to Salt Lake City this past weekend to attend Jordan and Estefi's wedding in the Salt Lake Temple. What a beautiful day, ceremony and experience.

We haven't seen Jared and Star Berry since we had kids- it's been probably 7 years. WAY TOO LONG. They were gracious enough to let us stay the weekend with them. We had fun catching up with them- they are so fun to be with. We're happy to live closer to them. Our kids played well together!

Kids at the pool during cousin time!

Sorry, these are clearly out of order.

Here is the beautiful couple!!

I loved seeing my lil sister. She's such a cutie. I miss her something fierce.

We haven't met my cousin, Tyler and Leilani's, daughter yet. So we stopped by and got to play for a minute. Such a gorgeous family. We will miss them when they move to MAUI!

Aaron took the boys to a color festival. They came home to covered in color and happy as can be.

I love that sweet smile.

Gavin woke up from a nap, came in to Aaron's office, stood there, went back for his blanket and Aaron found him like this later. Such a tired, sweet boy.

Oh, sweet Gavin. His smile takes my breath away. Such a happy boy.
Gavin is growing up so fast. Some highlights from lately:

He says "I DID IT!!" in the cutest, most proud voice after doing cute things like, putting his shirt on by himself. Or closing the garage door.

He'll ask for "Scratches, peas (please)" when he's sleepy, just like his brother.

He'll say, "I'm not poopy, I'm pee-pee!" in the cutest tone when we change his diaper. He even shakes his head to go with it. It's so adorable.

He's starting to say Jaylen a lot more. He also loves to say, "moooooom---MEEE!"

He is in to everything, eats half of everything, snacks constantly, makes a mess everywhere, and loves to annoy Jaylen however he can. He always loves to mimic what Jaylen does (which is SOOO frustrating most the time).

He loves to ask for "baby songs." It's an app on my phone that plays children's songbook songs with pictures he can flip through. He's crazy about it. He especially loves the ones that have little babies in them. He'll go, "Awwww, cute little baby!"

Workin' it

My heart is happy.  I had a moment of bliss tonight- I was pulling fresh bran muffins out of the oven, listening to Aaron giving the boys a bath in our tub, singing to beautiful music from Pandora, when a few texts came in from clients, new and past. Messages of appreciation, laughing from my boys, healthy, delicious food so available. Life is good. Oh, so good.

I wanted to record some of my work happenings. I'm feeling SO blessed.

I subbed a shift at the Biggest Loser today. I'm starting to get my own classes to teach. It's uncomfortable, but I'm grateful to be learning to do something new and improving in an area that's been intimidating for me.
When I come in to work, these schedules are hung up telling me what I'm doing for the day. It's somewhat nerve wracking getting thrown into teaching with other great trainers assisting and watching, but I am learning and it's becoming more comfortable!
Does anyone remember Sione and Filipe (2 Tongan LDS cousins) from Biggest Loser (I think season 6?)? I train with them! Super nice, silly guys..
Today was my first day teaching Stretch! It was amazing. A guest surprised us after by offering to sing for us. She stands up and belts out this AMAZING opera song. Everyone was in tears! Apparently she was a professional opera singer. Such interesting people!

Saturday I am subbing. I'm excited to see how the fitness summaries and especially the Last Chance Workout goes! I love torturing these poor souls. It's so great to see their relief and appreciation for the push when they are done!

Carol is one of my new clients here at Summit. She is crazy strong- she's gone through 2 brothers committing suicide, a divorce, weight issues, and struggles with depression and drinking.  She is overcoming a lot and is doing an awesome job. These are the moments when my job is SO rewarding:

She always sends me these kinds of messages after our sessions, excited about her progress. I love it!! So good to see good things happen to those that work for it!
One of my other clients here finds my boss to tell him how much he enjoys training with me after each session. He's losing weight, getting stronger and able to play with his kids more. He sincerely expresses his gratitude each time we meet (3x a week). I love pointing out to him that it's HIS hard work that is producing all his results. If you want it- only you can get it!!

I got this message from one of my favorite clients in Washington.  Her and her partner are training for a Tough Mudder. They are crazy strong and I could put them through HELL and they loved it. I always had fun with them. When I told them I was leaving they gave me so much crap and were nervous to go to another trainer. I got this text from her-

It made me sad, yet appreciate their gratefulness to the hard work I put in for them. I miss my clients in Washington!

Summit Athletic Club has been amazing so far. The facility is spectacular. I have been given 5 leads so far and all have bought training, so I'm almost where I was when I left Washington- UNHEARD of for training! It usually takes so much time to build up!

It's been a great balance with the kids. They love the child care and we usually go jump in the pool afterwards or hit up a park on the way home. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to predictably be able to play and be able to do anything we want outside, any day we choose. St. George- WE LOVE YOU!
