Lake Sammamish Triathlon!

So glad I could talk Katie into doing a sprint triathlon. This weekend we headed up to Lake Sammamish for a sprint triathlon. We left at 4:30 am to head up- on the crazy side but it was worth it once we were there. It was a gorgeous day and the lake was actually somewhat warm (a miracle here in WA!). It was so fun to do one again- I've really missed them. Felt really good through it- wanting to do another one soon! Katie did so awesome for her first one! She was 63rd out of 450 people on the swim!!!

I finished at about an hour and 30 minutes and ate a bit and talked with Mike, then decided to head back out to find Katie to finish up with her. People were so confused when I was running towards them to find her. "Um, lady, you're going the wrong way." "Hey, are you going the wrong way, or am I?" "Didn't get enough?" It was kinda awkward but it was fun to find her and finish up with her. Way fun- she did so good!!!

It was a blast!!!

Find the child in the picture

I feel so lucky to have my cute little family of boys. They sure do keep life fun and entertaining.

There was a conversation I had with Aaron a couple months ago that I keep meaning to record. It really was a sweet, memorable talk. We were talking about his future with a new job, where we've been and plan to go. Aaron was telling me how he was enticed by the "sexy" sports jobs- like working for the NBA, or college type positions, but he felt strongly about having the flexibility and the family friendly type job he has had recently. (If he did pro or college, chances are he'd be gone all kinds of hours/working games and be working 50+ hour weeks- T-Birds!).

The part that really touched me was that he said his dad didn't get the choice to spend time with his kids and his wife, but that he did and he wanted to do anything to be with his family as much as he could. I really appreciate his dedication to our family- me and our sweet little boys are definitely lucky to have him. He is so mature on the serious/important things and so not mature on, well, maybe everything else and I just love it. He definitely makes our lives fun!

Summer time fun in undies

Jaylen is sure a skinny little thing. His little body just cracks me up- I love it. For as much as this kid eats, it shows how active he is that he keeps no fat on his bones!

We had a little pool out by the sand box today while Mont turned on the sprinklers low for Jaylen. Needless to say, he had a blast...

Gavin at 5 1/2 months

So all these pictures are super similar but I couldn't bring myself to leave any of them off. He is just too cute for words. I absolutely love the playing with toes stage and he is such a doll. The cutest little smile and the most adorable coos. Love, love, love this kido!

He loves being tickled and kissed on..

Video of Gavin at almost 5 months

Gavin is too cute for words. I just love this sweet, happy guy.

By the way, do you ever just cringe when you hear yourself on video? I do.

Gavin has such a sweet, content personality. He is smiley and happy. He still wakes up a couple times at night, but he eats and goes right back to sleep- and has been sleeping in till 9:30ish. I definitely need to find a way to stop the night time feedings, but he's so good for me all the time, I feel like I can hardly complain. The minute he gets a little fussy, I can lay him down in his crib and he's out a minute later. It's amazing.

He loves, loves his thumb and it's so adorable (although the nightmare of what my parents must have gone through to get me to stop sucking my thumb is playing through my head). He still hates tummy time, but is getting better at holding himself up. He loves laughing at Jaylen, and is super ticklish on his feet and under his chin. Jaylen, Birgita and "the brothers" as Jaylen puts it, like to walk over Gavin and Gavin just CRACKS up. It's so fun to hear his squeals!

I think his eyes will be brown- lighter than Jaylen's, but brown. YAY! The physical feature I love the most about Aaron is his eyes, so I'm soooooo happy our boys have those brown eyes!

He is coming up on 6 months now and I'm gearing up for starting foods. I can't believe we've already come to that. It's crazy!

I just adore him. We are so happy hes come to our family!

Olympic Mountains- Hurricane Ridge

Sunday was a ton of fun and totally spur of the moment. We went to sacrament meeting, then took off to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic mountains (about a 3 hour drive). The boys were awesome and agreed to take all 3 babies, and children in the car while us girls got to cruise in their mini convertible. Way fun! First time I was in one, and had a good time. It was a gorgeous ride..

Here's me and Jenn in the snoopy goggles...

Jaylen was talking this park rangers ear off and when she walked away Jaylen said, "Dad, that police officer is really, really NICE!" She turned around and was so happy about his comment. It was cute...

Older kidos in the back...

Oh, I love the spunk of crazy Jaylen.

Beautiful!

Our family overlooking Canada..

Aaron and I were walking by Jaylen when he said, "Hold up guys. I need to feed my bear." He puts the bear to his nipple and makes sipping noises. We were dying laughing. He hasn't done that yet. He was very persistent about feeding the cute, little toy bear Grandma B gave him.

Hurricane Ridge..

Cute Jaylen and Birgita. They were quite the pair hiking together- smelling flowers along the way and looking at the deer. Way cute!

Our cute babes!

Here's another picture of Jaylen feeding his bear with his belly button. A few ladies in a big group close by were chuckling near by and told me, "Oh, he'll make such a cute daddy!" He was totally cracking us up.

More of Jess in town

So Jessica was here with her whole family the week before Jennifer got here, so I got some fun time hanging out with them. Jessica's husband, Shiloh, loves to come out to salmon fish, so I learned how to fish and I love it. So relaxing, nice to be outside, and fun! (And no, Merilee, Aaron will not touch seafood).

We visited the zoo and aquarium...

Brown's point- where Shiloh taught me the ways of salmon fishin'
