Crazy mom life

So, yesterday was complete crazy. After wanting to pull my hair out, I had to laugh thinking about how funny one day it may be. So here's an overview of yesterday so I can remember these crazy days of parenting two small children:

3 am: find Gavin sneaking into fridge. Rock back to sleep.
4:45 am: Alarm goes off for work
8:30 am: Get home from work. Eat breakfast with boys. Jaylen asks, "Mom, how do babies come here? Can only girls have babies? When will me and you have a baby?" Sit down and have a funny and awkward talk with Jaylen about marriage, babies and what this means to him. Gavin spills cereal all over the floor. Jaylen jumps on the couch holding his yogurt. Clean up mess.
9:15 am: Go back to room to change. Find mashed up graham crackers all over bed. (Gavin now opens doors despite us closing them to keep him out.) Clean up.
9:30 am: Hear water running, go to bathroom to see Gavin sucking toothpaste from tube and spraying water all over the bathroom. Clean bathroom.
10 am: Walk through kitchen. My socks stick to the floor from spilled juice. Sweep floor and mop sticky, messy floor.
10:30 am: Hear Jaylen yell, "MOMMMMMM!!! Gavin has your crazy pills!!!" So I go back to find Gavin has completely emptied by bag, my wallet contents are everywhere and he is attempting to get into my low dose Prozac pills.  Attempt to find every last card, license, dollar, and business cards possible and put my purse back together. Put my pills WAY up high.
11 am: Scramble to get Jaylen changed and ready for school. Where the heck is his backpack?? In the meantime, Gavin finds salt that Jaylen got out trying to find a crayon and has poured it on my bed.
11:17 am: Run like HELL to get Jaylen up to the bus stop on time.
11:30 am: Feed Gavin lunch. He throws sandwich, peanut butter side down, onto the newly cleaned floor.
11:45 am: Put Gavin to bed. PEACE AND QUIET.  Take a much needed nap.
1:40 pm: Wake up to Gavin slobbering on my cheek. He starts jumping and launching himself on me on my bed.
Rest of the day: track practice, keep Gavin from biting Jaylen and Jaylen from kicking Gavin, clean up more spilled food, take and give back toys, tell boys to quiet down since Aaron has a pounding headache 100 times. Explain to Jaylen what penis means and that it's not a bad word, just a word to describe our privates that we don't casually joke or talk about. GO TO BED.
3 am: wake up to Gavin pulling things off his shelf. Rock him back to sleep- go into bed to fid Jaylen sleeping in my spot. Attempt to sleep with bone knees in my side the rest of the night.

DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN TODAY.

I will survive this. I will survive this. I will survive this. I will survive this.

Track team and play

The Y just started it's track team this past week. Jaylen was excited to run with a few of his buddies. The coach is a record holder in the 400 m here in Washington and is such a nice guy. Jaylen was so excited to race around and around!

Birgita and Jaylen playing the Wii play together.
Jaylen and Gavin were invited to Poppie's birthday party. She is a new girl in Jaylen's primary class. She adores Jaylen- she's always trying to talk him into being her girlfriend and he never really knows what that means. It's pretty funny to watch.

Our kids crack us up. Gavin has such a CRAZY personality lately. He's very sneaky- loves to get into things and hide while he looks for treats. He's constantly looking for candy and treats and COOOKKKIEEESSSS. We were looking for him today to watch conference- I grabbed a wrapper and wrinkled it and immediately heard the pitterpatter of his little feet coming for "Nee-nees." He loves to snatch things from Jaylen and run as fast as he can to see how far he can get. He wrestles Jaylen and tries to give him slobbers on his cheek (Jaylen has a couple teeth marks on his head to prove it).  Watching them reminds me of a couple cats chasing each other around. They're so LOUD all the time. They're little tornadoes and I can never keep our home clean. It's pretty overwhelming sometimes to keep order around here.

Its a good thing they are so adorable and cute, or I'd probably go crazy (ier).

Easter 2013

Easter was fun this year! The weather while Jennifer was here was amazing! Sunny and warm the whole weekend! The kids were so excited about the Easter egg hunt, the Easter bunny, candy (or nee-nees as Gavin calls it), and playing with family. Jaylen was better able to understand and talk to about the true meaning of Easter- the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was especially fun to have my sister in town to enjoy it with.

Hailey and Gavin

We had a delicious family dinner with the family, including Nastasha and Corey. Afterwards the kids were so excited for the Easter bunny to come bring eggs on the lawn. So out we headed for an Easter egg hunt. Gavin was covered in candy and chocolate. He is such a little piggy!

Gavin and Allie were hilarious with this car. Giggling and giggling.

Bethany Cudahy was up for her very first baby shower for their upcoming baby boy! It was such a sweet, fun shower. So excited for them- they're going to be great parents! Our boys adore them!

Jennifer comes to visit!

My sister, Jennifer, came with her daughter Hailey to visit over Easter weekend. It was so fun to see and spend time with her! She is due with her fourth baby (boy) in June and Hailey will be turning two soon. It was fun to catch up- so glad she came!

Trip down to Day Island. Kids loved looking under rocks for crabs and star fish. The little ones loved tossing rocks in the water.

Jenn and I took off to hike around Point Defiance on Saturday afternoon. Gavin and Hailey found this dirt hill that they made into a slide. It was cute to listen to them giggle.

My gorgeous sister and her daughter

They would run into things and laugh and laugh. So contagious!

Aaron got to join us after work. Gavin smothered him with kisses and loves. It was so sweet!

Running and basketball

One of my friends from the Y is signed up for the Tacoma marathon in May, but is getting knee surgery, so he is no longer able to use his bib so he offered it to me. So I am going to be a 40 year old, Colombian named Jorge. I can pass for that right?? I'm very excited! This race goes across the Tacoma Narrows bridge, around Point Defiance and ends at the end of Ruston Way. All gorgeous places in Tacoma. The race was expensive, so I hadn't signed up. It's been fun to train for!
Point Defiance stairs down to Owens Beach

Running in Washington is wonderful. It's one of the few times I enjoy Washington weather. The views are amazing. I typically run early morning, right after my class when everyone is still asleep at home.  Running is very therapeutic.

We've had a few days of great sunshine. I LOVED being able to go outside and do some old workouts I love to do in the sunshine- tire flips, rope, and hill runs. My forearms were sore for DAYS from that dang tire!

Running with my running buddy

23 mile run Friday morning. Through the rain, forest, trails, road, and some crazy hills. It was tough, but felt great. Can't wait to tackle my race!  The only other marathon I've done (my first race!) I got a horrible time and wasn't really a runner at the time. I'm excited to beat my 5 hour time and see how I can do.

I've been playing in a basketball tournament since the beginning of the year in the Puyallup stake. It's been very fun! We won all of our season games, but lost by 2 points in the championship game. It was a great season with great ladies.
