2 1/2 weeks old (3/26/11):

11 days old (3/20/11):

My 3 cuties!

Here's some things Jaylen has done/said recently:

I was about to change Gavin, when he let out a huge toot. Jaylen was very interested to see Gavin's poop- so when I was done changing him I showed it to Jaylen. He wrinkled his nose and said, "Mom, we really need to teach Gavin how to use the potty." Amen to that, Amen to that!

Jaylen loves to use the phrases we use on him, much to my dismay. Aaron was stern with Jaylen after asking him to do something a few times, and Jaylen said, "Dad.. that's NOT an option." or he'll say, "Don't speak to me like that." It's extremely annoying, yet I have to laugh.

I pulled out the bulb syringe to suck out some of Gavin's boogers, and Gavin did NOT like it. Jaylen came over very quickly and got very frustrated with me. He said, "Oh mom, just be really, really soft! Just be so careful Mom." It was cute to see how protective he was already of his little brother.

Jaylen has been doing really well with Gavin. He's gotten really snuggly on him and just cute. He doesn't seem to be jealous or annoyed at him being around. He does get cranky and needs A LOT of my attention if someone other than me and Gavin are around. Jaylen loves to lay on Gavin's blanket with him and share his train blanket and a toy. It's funny to see Jaylen get frustrated when Gavin doesn't grab and play with the toy like he'd like. They are adorable. Gavin has gotten good at following voices and faces lately. I can tell he'll love watching Jaylen more and more!

Jaylen snuggling Gavin in his swing. He kept saying, "Awwww! He's just too cute!"

It's been fun having the 2, but wow, Jaylen really stresses me out sometimes. He just needs so much attention, doesn't listen, bounces off the walls with energy all day, wakes up super early since daylight savings, and fights sleep to no end. This has made for a difficult time being home ALL day with no break. I'm very excited to start training again in the early morning next week so I'll have a couple hour break from home throughout the week. I definitely need the break and I miss my clients!

I found these on the camera. Aaron came home from work to see us sacked out on the couch. I finally got Jaylen to fall asleep watching a Leapfrog letter video (which he LOVES!).

2 weeks old

Yesterday I took Gavin in for his 2 week appointment- has it really been 2 weeks?! Wow. Anyways, he is doing well. Blocked tear ducts and still has part of his umbilical cord hanging on- but weight gain is great!

He weighed in at 8 lbs 13 oz, and by 2 weeks the Dr said they hope they're back to birth weight, so he's eating well.

I asked her about how much they typically eat at his age. I was curious because I pumped the other day and had Aaron introduce the bottle. She said 1-2 oz between both sides.
I laughed. I had pumped over 4 oz on just one side. She was amazed, but not terribly surprised by his great weight gain.

So glad to have a happy, healthy baby!

Our 2 Boys!

Our 2 sweet boys!!!

Jaylen loved looking at his little hands..

Jaylen seems to be doing better since bringing Gavin home. I think it was overwhelming for him to be with Steve and Ellie for 2 days, get dropped off right as Grandma came in and we came home from the hospital, then deal with the new baby being in the house. He's been really nice to baby, loves to gives hugs and kisses, but seemed to be acting out, a little feisty and really want A LOT of attention. The past couple days he's been a ton better and is much easier to deal with.

A few funny things since Gavin:

The day we got home from the hospital Jaylen came up to me in the kitchen and asked, "Where is the baby's mommy??"

Jaylen was playing with his cement truck and I asked him what he was doing. He said, "I'm taking my truck to the hospital so it can deliver some cement." Couldn't help but to laugh.

Gavin's first week/Fun with Grandma

Merilee came in a couple hours after we left the hospital on Thursday afternoon (3/10) and was with us till Saturday morning the week after (3/19). We enjoyed catching up, doing a lot of fun things, enjoying our new little boy and Jaylen, and having the extra pair of hands to help. Unfortunately Jaylen seemed to be a little rascal while she was here (and has calmed down some), but he really enjoyed having her here and asked first thing Saturday morning where she went. We'll miss having her here!

Here's some fun pictures from Gavin's first week and Merilee's visit:

My friend Evelyn and her 2 month old baby stop by to drop off dinner. Yum! Thank goodness for good friends!

Waiting for the Rail Runner train to head up to Sante Fe on Friday.

Jaylen was SOOO excited..

Such a beautiful trip up to Sante Fe!

By the old church in Sante Fe:

Ate at the Cowgirl. Such a neat place. They had a kid's place out back where you could eat while the kids played on a playground. Best idea ever. They also had this fun dessert- ice cream potato. It looked just like a potato but was made out of ice cream, nuts, chocolate and whipped cream. Delicious!

Some old trains at the station:

Saturday morning (3/12) Merilee was a trooper and did a fun class with Jaylen at Aaron's work. It was really cute and entertaining to watch.

Jaylen loved it!
