Twinkle, Twinkle!

THIS KID IS THE CUTEST THING EVER!

For Valentine's Day, Merilee and Bryan got Jaylen a cute singing card with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on it. He loved it and listened to it all the time. Recently he's been singing it the best he can. It could be one of the cutest things he's done so far. We love, love, love it! It's so adorable!

Jaylen is cute saying his full name and knows exactly what we learn about at church! Too cute..

Piggy?

So I wasn't feeling well at all Friday night- I have no idea what got into me. I had a fever of just over 100 and just wasn't feeling right. We were in the front room playing and I decided to lay on the couch. I had apparently fallen asleep and was snoring. Aaron said Jaylen walked up to me, looked, pointed then said, "Mommy's a piggy? Oink, oink? (in his nose snort way)" We had a good laugh over it.

We were singing "I am a Child of God" on the way to church, and afterward we asked Jaylen if he knew what or who his parents were. He looked at us and said, "Carrots? MMMMMmmmmmmM!" How can we blame him? He's got 2 parents obsessed with food too!

He came in while I was getting ready saying, "Dangerous!! Dangerous!!" Immediately worried, I followed Jaylen to what he deemed "Dangerous." Sure enough, he had climbed up on the dishwasher to get on the counter, and had pulled all the knives out of the wood block. Hopefully I got the point through that "dangerous" means "DO NOT DO IT or TOUCH IT!" That seems to be the hard part getting through to his little brain.

March Madness 2010!

First off, I'm slightly disappointed that no blog background sites have any backgrounds dedicated to March Madness, so we're stuck having to use the 1 and only sports related blog background.

Wow, what a crazy month. Seriously madness, but in a good way.

I've really taken up racquetball in the past 7 months or so. A couple clients of mine like playing, so I play about 3-5 times a week. I've managed to walk away from games with a bruise or two, but finally received my pay back from the girl who I busted out her teeth.

I'm over a week out since this one and I have a lovely green bruise still lingering on my leg. Love it.

Also I started teaching a sprint triathlon class at work. I love it! There is a group of 4 in my class and we meet 3 times a week and do a swim, run and bike each week! I'm signed up for an official triathlon in April! I'm pretty excited- this could become addicting! I want to complete an Olympic distance triathlon by the end of the year. This will be FUN!

Jaylen loves watching me get ready in the morning, and to Aaron's dismay loves to copy what I do. Our new favorite- he loves to "curl his nose lashes." Also, he loves having gel put in his hair, after which he says, "Ohhh, Handsome!!"

This yummy wedge salad with Bleu Cheese dressing that Rachel sent me the recipe for was outstanding. I ate it 4 days in a row to use up the salad dressing (wouldn't want anything going to waste!). Yum.

Jaylen loves to stand or sit with his arm around my back (and play with my hair on occasion) while looking at pictures of himself or of family blogs. (We were quizzing him last night and he kept mixing up Alex and Adam, and thinking I was Jen- he's getting better though!) Its sweet- love this snugglie little man!

Jaylen plays till his eyelids can't possibly keep open any longer.. This picture cracks me up cause he is totally dirty, 1 sock off, and I heard him talking all the way till he was asleep.

Aaron has been putting Jaylen to bed recently and story time is my favorite to listen in on. Usually involves some singing, occasional reading, squealing, and giggling. Jaylen loves it.

A nasty, sudden case of strep throat hit Jaylen and I a couple weekends ago. It was absolutely horrible, but after a 103.5 degree temperature for 24 hours, antibiotics, and loving, tender care from Aaron, recovery went well. Jaylen wasn't really hit with it bad, but I sure was. Thank goodness that's over and done with. I know its gross- but this puss ball came out of my throat and is what made me realize I was sick before a nasty fever caught up with me...

Jaylen's trying to stop taking naps (which I absolutely refuse to let happen) and its a struggle to get him to sit still long enough to take one. After fighting with him for awhile to stay in his bed, I heard silence, then after 10 minutes I heard a loud noise in his room. I went in to find him slumped over in his chair, he had been looking at his scriptures book, and it dropped to the floor (hence the noise).

Taking Aaron's graduation announcement pictures! These aren't the final one we used, but I still really like them! What a handsome devil my husband is!

Graduation is May 15, 2010. In preparation for that, Aaron is taking his big final "comp" tests next Saturday. He seems pretty confident that he'll pass, but he's really wanting to do well so combined with his GPA he can graduate with honors. What a stud.

Along with working 4 days a week, going to school and doing an internship 2 full days then going to class, Aaron has been studying for his tests, searching/applying for jobs, and keeping us entertained and happy at home. What an amazing guy. I'm completely grateful for his hard work and commitment to everything he becomes involved with!

Well, that's our March so far. The rest of March will be filled with a lot of basketball I'm sure. GO KU, MD, LOBOs and BYU!!!!!!!!

Scared

I found a huge spider on a chair in the front room. As soon as I went to get the vacuum to suck it up, Jaylen said, "I'm scared!" and ran off. After vacuuming the spider and the floor up, I went to find him and he was on Aaron's side of the bed, securely wrapped around Aaron's pillow. I looked at him and he said, "Ohhhh.... Need to snuggle Dadddy!!!"

Jaylen adores Aaron and I love it! Its so sweet when he makes comments throughout the day about Aaron- Aaron's such a good daddy! Moments like this make being a parent totally worth it!
